Privacy policy
Effective September 4, 2026
AskLily.Insure (“AskLily”, “we”) runs the website at asklily.insure, the Lily assistant at asklily.chat, and the tools our licensed agents use. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not skimmed.
What we collect
- What you give us. Name, phone number, email, state and ZIP code, and the answers you choose to give about your goals, budget, health, occupation, date of birth, existing coverage and the best time to call. On the quote form and in chat, every field beyond your contact details is optional.
- Your conversation with Lily. Lily is an automated assistant. What you type is processed to generate her replies. When you ask for an agent, Lily prepares a short briefing for that agent from what you told her.
- Technical details. Your IP address, browser and device type, the page you came from, and a random visitor identifier stored in your browser. We use these for security, to stop abuse, and to keep a record of consent.
- Consent records. When you agree to be contacted we store the exact wording you saw, the time (UTC), your IP address and your browser, so we can prove what you agreed to and honor it.
Why we use it
- To connect you with a licensed independent insurance agent who will call, text or email you about the coverage you asked about, at the time you chose.
- To let Lily answer your questions and remember what you told her within a conversation.
- To send the confirmation and reminder messages you agreed to, and to let you opt out.
- To protect the service: rate limiting, fraud checks, verification that a phone number or email is real.
- To comply with insurance, telemarketing and privacy law, including Do Not Call rules.
Who we share it with
- Licensed agents. Independent agents working with AskLily receive your details so they can help you. They are bound by their own licensing obligations and by our terms.
- Insurance carriers. Only if you choose to apply, and only what the application needs.
- Service providers. Companies that host our systems, send text messages and email, verify phone numbers and email addresses, and power Lily’s language model. They may use your information only to provide those services to us.
- Legal. When the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of people using the service.
Text messages
If you agree to be contacted, you may receive text messages from AskLily or an agent about your request. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out and HELP for help. Consent to texts is not a condition of buying anything.
How long we keep it
Lead records and consent records are kept for as long as needed to serve you and to meet insurance and telemarketing record-keeping requirements. Chat and text conversation context is cleared from Lily’s working memory within days of the last message. Security logs are masked so they do not contain your phone number or email.
Your choices
- Ask us not to contact you by any channel, at any time, by replying STOP, telling the agent, or emailing us.
- Ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will verify it is you first, and we may keep a record that you asked not to be contacted so we can honor it.
- If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah or another state with a privacy law, you have these rights by law and we honor them for everyone regardless.
Security
Data is stored with a hosted database provider with encryption in transit and at rest, access limited to authorized staff and agents, and multi-factor sign-in for the tools our agents use. No system is perfect; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will tell you.
Children
The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes and contact
We will post changes here with a new effective date. Questions or requests: email hello@asklily.chat, tell the agent who called you, or ask Lily for a privacy request; a person will follow up.
